The chance to hear and discuss different perspectives on issues with
classmates from different cultures
Before I came to Japan, I thought I would have a lot of difficulty
adapting to the culture and language differences I'd find here. When I
came to KIU as a student a few months ago, though, all my concerns
melted away. The administrative staff was helpful and the lecturers
knowledgeable and experienced. I met students of many nationalities and
they were all really friendly. I soon realized I was among a fantastic
group of people who shared a common goal ・to educate and be educated
in the best way possible. The learning environment here isn't that
different than England. At KIU, students are encouraged to have opinions
and their individuality given a chance to flourish. What I have found
especially interesting and rewarding is the chance to hear and discuss
different perspectives on issues with classmates from different
cultures. Even though I am here for only one semester ・I'll be
returning to England for an internship with the BBC before completing an
Honors degree in Science at Portsmouth University ・the memories,
knowledge and experiences I've gained here have been invaluable.
