From the Principal

Principal: Richard W. Myers University of Phoenix, M.A.Ed. University of Wyoming, B.S. Secondary Science Education, 1987; B.S. Botany, 1985; B.S. Wildlife Management and Conservation, 1983 14 years of teaching experience in public and private schools in Colorado

Dear Parents,

As the newly appointed middle school/ high school principal, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Richard Myers. My family and I are originally from Colorado, USA. But before moving to Kyotanabe in March 2003, we lived in Saga prefecture for two years. My wife and I have four children. Our oldest daughter is married and expecting her first child in January. Our other three children are attending KIU Academy. We really enjoy living in Kyotanabe and being a part of KIU Academy.

As I stated earlier, my family and I really enjoy being a part of KIU Academy. It has been a real blessing to us. I have come to know many of your children, especially those in the middle schools and high schools. It has also been my pleasure to work with a caring staff and administration, a staff and administration that cares about your child’s mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. If you haven't already talked with your child’s homeroom teacher or classroom teachers, I would encourage you to do so. You will see how much they care for your child.
